After floating the idea of featuring Leonard Cohen songs in my next podcast, I got back some encouragement in the Facebook Page, which is always nice, so here it is – spread over two weeks. In Episode 22, which went out a day early, there are no less than three Leonard Cohen songs, all from the 1969 “Song From A Room” album as well as two Andy Roberts somngs, one of which is revived for the first time ever on these broadcasts and podcasts, and a Roy Harper / Dylan/ Folk song snuck in there as well.

Inspired by friends’ lists of 15 songwriters tagged and copied in Facebook, I played songs by Neil Diamond, Steve Tilston, Andy Roberts, Loudon Wainwright and a bonus track Roy Harper song at the start of which there’s an unfortunate inbound telephone ringtone but I didn’t let that faze me at all, oh no. If you do happen to be listening on an iphone or in a house then the effect could be unpredictable.

Podcast Launch

Building the Opening Night

It would be nice to have a bit of a crowd along for the opening night just to get the regular weekly podcasting off to a good start so I’ve created a facebook Event for this particular show which you can invite people to. I’ll also be making a post over on my long established blog site at DARnet Andy Roberts and one or two other places if I can think of them.

The podcast opening night will also be part of the Cafe Noodle July Ustream Festival, a great music community organised by Matt Stevens Loop.

I think it should be possible to embed the ustream show here on this site – so that’s something I’ll be having a go at too.
